DeLand Police Department
On 01/14/2012 at approximately 1:00 AM, a resident in the 200 Block of Asterbrooke in Victoria Hills and the 1600 Block of Timber Hills in the Timbers discovered suspects actively breaking into vehicles. The residents immediately contacted the Police Department and were able to provide suspect and vehicle description. Units arriving in the area located the suspect's vehicle in the 1500 block of S. Woodland Blvd.
While on scene with the suspect's, several of them made spontaneous in regards to committing numerous vehicle burglaries in the Victoria Hills area and the Timbers. Various personal property was located and placed into evidence for identification and safe return to the owners. Subsequent investigation led to the above subjects being charged with Vehicle Burglary. The investigation is ongoing. A special Thank you to the residents that called the information in a timely manner which led to the subject's capture.

The Goals of the Victoria Gardens Neighborhood Watch
1. Create a Neighborhood atmosphere where neighbors look out for each others property and families.
2. Alert the DeLand Police to any suspicious activities or crimes that are in progress.
3. The DeLand Police Department will work together with the citizens of Deland to make their community a better and safer place to live.
Neighborhood Watch works by bringing residents in a neighborhood together for the purpose of reporting suspicious activity, informing each other about crimes that occur in the neighborhood and employing crime prevention techniques.
If you need to report an emergency…dial 911.
In a non – emergency case 734-1711. After the connection is made press 1 and that will connect you to the Police Dispatch Center and request to speak with an officer or explain your concern. There may be a 10-15 second delay, Stay on the line until the dispatcher answers the phone.
